| Ok, here goes, and I'm sure young Padowan will join me shortly!
All the way open - i think everyone sees this as a non-starter
My way, shut and equalise when it's convenient to do so:
This way, in effect has all the advantages of manifolded twins and independent twins without any of the disadvantages. If it all goes to shit, I have at least half my gas saved without doing anything, and I could then potentially sort the problem and still have access to the gas in the offending cylinder. If you dive with a slob knob, this method proves even better as a failure of the slob know (when it's being used at a convenient time not in an emergency) means you have a closed manifold.
Part open
It is unlikely, but you could have a problem at exactly the same moment you get stuck in a tight space or you arms perhaps get trapped, then you are constantly losing gas. At least the pervious way, you have 1/2 your gas and therefore time to get out of the jam.
Bring it on!
