The YBOD is only one particular rebreather, the Inspiration and it's called the Yellow Box Of Death, because it's a Yellow box and it can kill you if you use it wrong.

There's also "Beanie and his amazing technicolour dream box" which I think Andrew Lloyd Webber wrote a musical about

It is also known as the Yellow Box Of Debt - but that's just cos it costs loads!

However any rebreather is capable of killing it's "pilot" if they don't know what they're doing. Hence the warnings on KISS units...
