We took a combination of Egyptian, US, and UK Sterling to Marsa and they were all accepted, the hotel we stayed at had quite a few of the prices in Euros too. On the last day we even managed to pay for a couple of souvenir t-shirts using a combination of all three currencies and got change in Euros!
