Blimey!!

Blimey Bren, where on earth did you did that one up from???..... I've just been looking at the posting dates... 2002 FFS!!!

Oh when we were young(er) and daft(er) eh....

How things have changed, I'm only 60 mins home after completing a full GUE Tech 1 course over the last five days with Andy Georgitsis where we were having to deal with multiple failures, air shares, lost deco gases, and lost mask (thanks Andy) at silly depths in Wastwater, but thankfully, all under the influence of a sexy little trimix number..

I'll always remember my incident in Oban, it changed me forever, at least it changed the way I thought about diving, I can honestly say with hand on heart that it was without doubt one of the scariest moments of my life and it's memory has driven me to be as safe and as practised as I can be

I've never dove deep on air since and I'll never dive deep on air again.... when it goes wrong, it can go from good to bad in a heartbeat and for no apparant reason... at least it did for me.... I'm just glad I was able to finally control the panic, I have to wonder just how many serious incidents are down to uncontrollable panic brought on by narcosis, increased breathing resistance, carbon doixide retention, hypercapnia and an ensuing bolt to the surface....
