Lightbulb USB woes..........

Hi Kath, sorry you missed the posts by luke284 and me. Still, the proper Suunto ones do look a bit better than my home-made ones!

Getting a non-standard USB device to work without the correct drivers is a nightmare I'm afraid, even if you're running Windows XP (which does a fairly good job of recognising most USB devices). The only chance you've got really is to try and find out the manufacturer of the adapter. Are there any labels, part numbers, FCC ID numbers or similar on the cable or connectors? Can the guy you got it from remember where he bought it? If you can get any details I can try and find out more for you.

If all else fails you can buy a new one pretty cheaply off eBay. I just got one for £3.99 plus postage.

Hope this helps

Same prob as Edward. No serial ports on my laptop. Friend has given me a USB/serial connector but can't find the installation disk as yet.

Any ideas becuase "Add new hardware" is detecting it but can't install it properly and my suunto wont talk to the laptop yet????

Boo hoo

Help me please

Kath
