I have the Buddy self inflator so I don't have to mess about with the AutoFreeflow unless something goes wrong. I clip it on the D-ring on the YBOD right wing with it's velcro wrapped round the reel handle (small 50m McMahon). A friend videoed me launching it once. 8 seconds from the hand reaching the clip to the reel spinning. Even I was surprised (and a bit smug).

I also have a simple sealed mouth one with a 20m spool and a yellow one with just a piston clip to run up another line as an "I'm in the poo" signal but they only come out for serious dives and I've never had to use them for real yet.
