Hello

For future proof regs APEKS are excellent and good for cold water diving. DIN is essential, don't get A Clamp. Going forward, a wing may be better than a BCD as it is also future proof if you eventually go down the twinset route.

Alternatively, you could alway buy a yellow box and save yourself all the money, training and gas hassle of open circuit.

The new evolution would be a fantastic starting rebreather. Since open circuit experience counts for very little when going closed circuit, it makes sense from a learning and long term financial perspective to go closed circuit as soon as you can. And the APEKS regs will do for bailout regs!

Regards

AnneMarie
