can't fault the choice of regs, but are you really sure about the triple console? i personally found a big console to be a real pain. also, analogue depth gauges have real limitations and a compass on a console isn't to everyone's taste (i prefer mine on my wrist, but it's down to personal preference). most more-experienced divers you see tend to have small single SPGs.

if you have the money, i would recommend getting a single SPG (£35) a dive timer (£65) and a compass (£30). This is more than a triple console (around £90), but a lot more future-proof. the dive timer especially will be a lot more useful than a depth gauge as it gives you digital depth reading, ascent rate warning, dive time, maximum depth and temperature, as well as keeping a record of your dives. in my opinion it is the best option for using with tables, and gives you a back-up once you start using a computer.
