I find it easiest yellow side towards the RIB as this minimises the amount of kit that can catch on the ropes and handles of the RIB, but I have never damaged anything doing it the other way.

The people I dive with don't like helping with anything heavier than twin 10s and my Inspiration has all my lead attached as well, but rebreathers tend to be an exception to this rule, I never asked why incase the exception went away, but I always put it down to interest in the kit and finally getting to handle it.

Try them, but if they still won't help, I'd say you have outgrown your club and need to move on to pastures new
