For the speakers, it depends on what you want them for. I have JBL kit for my surround sound system and it's pretty good - they have a good reputation for modestly priced stuff.
If you just want to listen to the iPod on the move, then an iTrip might be the way forward for you. It's a tiny FM transmitter that you hook up to it to broadcast the iPod music to an FM stereo nearby. Very good for the car or if you have a home stereo already.
