I'm also pleased that Heads Up has taken the opportunity to firm up the thinking behind whats considered acceptable on YD. I'm sure we all read postings on many open forums that sometimes we don't particularly agree with. The manner in which he/she expresses their views is important and can easily be misinterpreted, and understandably tempers flare Some of the comments and flame wars on other Diver related Open forums have sadly only illustrated to me how divided the diving community can become. Any Moderators role is a position of responsibilty, I agree that personal insults and allegations should not be displayed on forums.
Having said that it is apparent to me that on some of the other Diving Forums ( other than YD) Moderators have edited deleted posts purely because they don't subscribe to a particular view,clearly Censorship rather than moderation.
I look forward to some excellent exchange of views.
