Hi Shaun,

If you leave the stack to dry, opened, there is neglible, in fact zero, gas flow through the scrubber.

My advice would be this, leave the head open over night to dry and empty the water from the bottom of the cannister, if present. Then reseal it in the scrubber and close the mouthpiece.

As long as your dives are shallow (20m or less) AND you carry adequate bailout, you should be ok.

However, my final advice is this:

When you're driving your car and you ask yourself 'Do I need to put my lights on?', well the answer is in the question, if you have to ask yourself then you should.

Only you can make your own decision with the scrubber, I guess what I am saying is, if you think you may need to change it, then change it anyway.
