Its 32mm diameter but if your mounting a pp3 or you have tall components at the sides it will obviously restrict it further, my pp3 is mounted on the board and it just fits with the board being 28mm wide.

Tecme do pport cell holders for about £24, so I'm going to use 2 of them for the time being and poss a vr3 in the future ( not until my credit card recovers from the melt down
)
