Thanks everyone for the replies.

Decided to go for the Suunto in the end, seems like the safest choice. If all else fails, it looks nicer than the Apeks! I'm not going to need the gas switching for a good few years (I wouldn't have thought), perfectly happy pootling along in Stoney at the moment! :grin:

Oh, that and the PC interface for the Suunto is cheap (as in £10 of components from Maplin) and the software looks better.
