Then again from my limited experience with some insurance companies they'll find some 'reason' not to pay out fully, usually some small print detail written in legal jargon. Though in this case and knowing it was a diving holiday I'm surprised the gentleman didn't carefully check.
Hope all goes well for him with the treatment.
