Mate, in the US religion is invariably suborned to business, and often the two are so closed intertwined as to be inseparable - if happy-clappy Evangelical 'pastors' can make a buck out of 'saving' the great unwashed, they will, but was it ever thus? In the 14th Century I could have secured you a place in Heaven if you purchased - from me - the fingerbone of the right forefinger of St Peter.....the fact that I had twelve-gross of the things to flog is neither here nor there
