| Sounds like maybe they over rate the bulb (20W) to get the brightness and it just gives up the ghost too early. Did you pay by CCard, you sometimes have a comeback via them if you did. Just bear in mind if you accept a new bulb (perhaps a lower wattage) then you have accepted the item including its faults so consumer rights get a bit tricky after that. i.e. dont accept anything to keep the torch going on a promise of a better bulb later.
