Hi,
I'd take the advice here and not rush into buying anything or changing any configuration for this course only.
Just turn up with what you have, but do touch base with RW when he gets back from Florida on the very essentials. He has all the equipment at his disposal (or ours if needed) for any DIR/GUE course requirement down here and will be able to provide for anything else. If nothing, all of our own instructors and staff only use real DIR equipment anyway. (Okay, we also do dive teams and non-narcotic gases and use GUE guidelines and GUE gases ;-)
Before I did my own Fundamentals with GUE, doing rather long sessions underwater and on the surface with some of the best GUE guys I know in advance, I just turned up in what I already had and used, and wanted/expected feedback on them as well as possible improvement points.
We managed to exchange feedback that made me like this agency in its core.
That's the original value of the equipment side of the course. And also the morale behind it for me...
There'll be some of our own staff on this one.. I think I might well be sitting on some of the sessions too, so looking forward to touching base.
Izzy
