I'd love to see people justify a business case for installing CD cover disc software on a business PC. It's for use for company applications, not to play Doom or load up utilities which shag the network.
This all started at our place with tosspots installing the AOL client from CD and then wondering why their PC doesn't work properly. We then, instead of trying to uninstall, rebuild the PC from scratch. Where's my files? Oh - the AOL you installed wiped them |
Ok been there and done that! Once put a Maplins Catalogue CD in to my PC (had admin rights) Its a really weird feeling as you hear it pop up on EVERYONE elses PC.
I have been working with Networks for nearly 20 years now. Yes Ethernet has been there that long. People have been blaming it for slow response for that long too. It is occationally the culprit.
