Sensible question. I shall try to answer sensibly.

The CD plate has a shallow groove which will make my knob stick out a little. However, the rounded knob end will not dig into your back. My knob, when used with a shallow groove, works much better than nuts.

Try my knob and see if it fits. If it doesn't, I can provide a shorter knob where some shaft length is removed.
