Mark, with respect I think this is crap. I've dekitted from the KISS (Hog harness) inside a cave since it was the only way to get out at the time. I did this in nil vis and without ending up dead (well only from the neck up).

The one piece harness can work, once its setup... but if someone is diving and comfier with a clip, let them be. Over time they can choose whether to change to one piece or not.

The one major argument I've seen for clips revolves around ease of dekitting for RIB diving. In my (non DIR) opinion, this has some validity. The question you have to ask yourself is can you safely complete YOUR diving with a failled clip.

Brent, if your mate wants to pick and choose from various diving systems that he beleives have validity, I'd suggest thats a good thing. If you cant rationalise the reasoning/justification for any one particular thing, its a good diver who continues to question, rather than blindly accept.

Zak, guys, Thanks.

I didnt expect such reasoned and common sense answers from EVERYONE. Much respect to you all.
Now I'm off to make some cool harnesses, if it works out, I'll let you all know about it.

Brent.
