To follow up on Kens post, the Jeanne II is excellent. Crew are very friendly and get the job done. The Jeanne II docks in Sheepshead bay, Brooklyn.
This location probably has the unique distinction of allowing you to go diving by wheeling your twinset on a trolley out of a high rise manhattan apartment block, down to the subway, getting lots of funny looks, and getting the subway all the way to just across the road from the dive boat
It does take a long time though -
They do dives on wednesdays during the summer, check it out.
