Somthing like this is fine, but kids tend to break laptops, one drop and it's history, they are so expensive to repair, typicaly £200+, that most people don't bother.

It's odd to note that it does not have a DVD RW, these are now standard on most models, even the entry level ones. Staples are doing a very similar, but slightly better one with the DVD RW for £399, you can go into a store and have a look, you will also save the shipping cost.

Whatever you do, seriously think about some sort of accedental damage cover if it's for kids, or buy a desktop for home, at lease if they spill a can of coke on that you just throw away the keyboard, you can't do that with a laptop.
