Another vote for Jet fins. I bought myself a pair of Cressi Rondine As a while ago and then found some Jetfins in a dive shop for £10 a pair so I bought some as spares as they were so cheap. Thought I'd better try them at least once as there'd be no point keeping them even as spares if I didn't like them so I used them for one dive. Never used anything else since. Add a set of Woz spring straps and you'll be in fin heaven .
They're powerful, great for frog kick so you don't stir up silt and they're virtually indestructable. Only thing against them is that they are quite heavy, great if you're in a drysuit, can mess up your trim a bit in a wet suit.
