I got a Dolphin cert in 1998 and found the preparation time and the maths involved in working out what I was breathing to be a pain.
These comments became reinforced when I got an Inspiration. The prep and cleaning were more involved as was the set up in comparison.
The work of breathing was harder in normal swimming due to the positioning of the counterlungs when compared to a Inspiration.
The depth limitation also did not suit my usual diving pattern.
Hope this helps
