Tests 2-6 and part of 7 test the cranial nerves and the rest test parts of the brain and spinal cord. It's just that it's easier to see if something is wrong with the orientation and balance ones too. It's a really really good idea to practice on each other often, as you'll remember how to do it and, more importantly, what normal is like - this means that you'll have a better chance of detecting some kind of abnormality.
