Can't be doing with 'dive etiquette' - I got a stainless steel 6" blade in a lockable plastic hard cover for £15 and its fine. If I lose it, it's not a great financial loss, if it rusts I clean it with sandpaper! Don't go for the pathetic 'politically correct' small BC knives - you need a sturdy knife with a cutting edge and a serrated edge (also a hammer on the handle may be useful too!)
