Question brazillionth reel configuration question

Hello all,
just thought i'd slither out of the shadows and actually post a question which has been on my mind for a change, namely:

I am planning to get a new primary reel for wreck & deep (trimix) diving was wondering which is better for wreck line laying and emergency blobbing off, the 'L' type handle or (as I have seen some people use ) a goodman's type handle which leaves the hand free.

Have discovered the Kent Tooling reels which look unbelievably shiny and drool-worth, only fairly heavy ( and better for hand-to-hand combat) though they are excellent value.

anyway, may we all hold hands and say a prayer so the the English rain'god may bugger off to the continent for a years weeks (months, decades) and yet us get some diving done

Thanks
will
