I suppose you could consider it a failiure point yes.That said,I've never encountered a problem with adaptors (except once on a home made one,but it was a really old dodgy bit of brass they used!)I certainly have no qualms re.using them and do so.IMHO I reckon that the point on a hose assembly with the greatest potential failiure points are the crimped attachments at the ends and the actual "soft" hose itself,esp when aged a little and around said fittings due to stress.If you look this is where you'll see most hoses blow.
So,while it could be considered though it probably is'nt as great a failure point as the rest of the hose.Just make sure it is'nt overtightened as this can cuse the fittings to crack and then fail in the future undr pressure,hope this helps,gotta go,Hobby.
