<font color='#F52887'>picture this in your head: you have a standard octo with the hose entering the reg from the right. mount it on your chest area hose entering from the left (the reg is now upside down), now imagine handing it to your buddy, they are now face-to-face with you with the reg right way up in their mouth. if you do it the standard way your buddy is offline with you, and the hose is a bit kinked. As you know, the best thing to do on an air-sharing ascent is to hold onto your buddy's BC and this is a lot easier. like I said, try it and see.
