| That's not a good sign. I have had 2 fail from rebreatherspares.
Get in touch with Rod and see if he will swap them out, granted the ones I had were a couple of months old but they should last longer than that.
Try them in a pure O2 environment first though for half an hour, any longer than that and they should be working fine.
