To dive or not to dive - that's not even an option.

Hi Dave

Just bought one, £20 cash for a 21" HP hose and ic came with the fittings to connect to my SPG. My previous one leaked from the joint at the reg. connection so had to go.

I would not dive with an HP hose which had bubbles coming from it (ok, I'd maybe do it on the day), as it's like a leak in a dam, once it has starterd, it is liable to go any time. I seen this happen to a dive guid in western australia, I pointed it out to him and he gave the usual ausie reply: "she'll be 'right". Two days later (six dives) the hose gave out totaly while on a safety stop at 6m. I was at the back of the boat and just seen him coming up in a mass of bubbles, he was laughing, and shaking, at the same time. "You were right about that hose mate" he smirked as he walked past!

Light harted story, but this guy was doing 40m dives on it?!

Just get a new one, £20 is nothing.

James
