There have been about a zillion threads on this subject over the years. You will get as many people here who prefer a memberane as those who prefer neo.

Personally, I went for neo right from the start as it is warmer and theoretically I need less underwear. I now have an Othree compressed neoprene suit which I find sufficiently flexible (which is often the main advantage people use for memberane over neo). Being compressed, it doesn't have too much change in buoyancy the deeper I go (another reason cited by membrane proponents) but I get the warmth of neo and the reliability of Othree, which means it really is a drysuit.

Having never dived in a membrane suit, I can't comment on how good they are, or if they are better than neo. All I can say is that mine is reliable, comfortable I know that if it ever needs sorting out I will get brill service from O'Three.
