You'll get a lot of differing opinions and end up non-the-wiser, however....

For me it's membrane all the way. My first drysuit was an 8mm neoprene Northern Diver in 1988 and I hated it. The bouyancy changes were a nightmare and I felt like the Michelin Man in it.

My last drysuit was a 5mm compressed neoprene from O3 which, although much better that the ND, still had bouyancy change characteristics. It also weighed a ton when wet, took ages to dry and when dry it was still heavy and bulky.

Last year I bought a DUI CLX450 and love it. It's still a little bulky, especially when compared to the DUI TLS suit, but it's a lot harder wearing and less likely to get damaged when rummaging around wrecks, which is my penchant.

I can turn it completely inside out in seconds and it dries in next to no time. It's easier to put on/take off, is much more comfortable out of the water and I get nowhere near as hot and bothered between dives as I did with the neoprene suit.

I can honestly say I'll never buy another neoprene dry suit.
