Angry What hope is there for the rest of us when the Police can't be arsed?

I don't often winge and moan so I thought I'd have a go and see if I like it.

Summer 2006.

I was out walking the dog and caught two young chavs damaging some property at the Weymouth & Portland Sailing Academy (the location for the 2012 Olympic Sailing events).

I phoned Dorset Police, detained the offenders and waited.

And waited.......

and waited......

Eventually from my vantage point I saw a Police Officer leave the Portland Police Office about 3/4 of a mile away and drive in the opposite direction from my location.

I eventually got bored of waiting and sent the two scrotes on their way.

To this day I've never been contacted by Dorset Police to make a statement. From sources within the organisation I later learned that the officer detailed to attend simply radioed back to the control room "area searched no trace".

Some time passed and I decided that the lack of Police attendance was unaceptable and I attempted to make a complaint against the Police for neglect of duty.

I went through the proper procedure of speaking to an Inspector and explained the situation. He told me that there was nothing he could do unless I could tell him exactly when the incident occurred. Unable to do this, I asked if he could search the incident log using my name as a complainant and track down the incident that way. He told me this was impossible and Dorset Police do not have that facility.

My sources from within informed me that such a search was possible (surprise surprise).

The Inspector concerned told me that the only thing he was able to do was ask the local Beat Officer to come and have a chat with me.
This has yet to happen and it's now been a while.

To conclude;
There is now a letter on it's way to the Chief Constable of Dorset Police.

If you're the officer that was assigned the original incident or if your an Inspector with Dorset Police and the above rings a bell. Might I suggest that you start to get your excuses ready because I'm coming for ya!

Note to Divers coming to Dorset; Bring some form of protection and your own private security company with you because there is no Police cover in this county.

Thanks for listening and letting me bore you with such trivial matters. Have a nice day!
