Excellent report!
I am also involved in a course over a period of time, though that is because I failed it first time round
But seriously, Even though I am obviously much less experienced and able than yourself I agree with what you say about spreading the course. On the course I did, new skills were introduced which I had never done before, others where changed, other 'habits' needed to be broken - there was simply too much going on for me to bring it all together in days we had for the course as I had to learn too much.
I did notice something interesting on the course though, some skills I was able to do even at the end of the dive, when all sorts of stuff had gone wrong, multiple failures had happened, and I was fed up and worn out - I was still able to complete some skills just fine. These were skills I had already done multiple times, and were fairly much ground into me. But other skills I had problems with even when I was fresh at the start of a dive - these were new skills to me and I had to concentrate too much to try to make them happen. So, I came away realising that I needed to keep practicing the new ones, till they became second nature. Not only would it mean I could do what was needed when I get around to continuing with the course, but I will then also be able to do them for real in the event of a Poo Fan Interface situation.
It is good to hear that those more advanced than me have problems too. You can feel sometimes that everyone in a natural dive god, and I am the only muppet.
