Extremely rare on our coast. Almost wiped out by divers during the 60s and 70s as they are easy to catch. By legend their tails are capable shearing your fingers off.
If you did see one, it is only the second report of one I have come across in S Devon in the last 10 years. Definitely one to leave. |
My mate and I caught one off The Smalls in Pembrokeshire about 7 years ago. The Smalls was swarming with them. Didn't realise they were so rare in these parts otherwise I'd have left him.
