Neither biofuel nor LPG are remotely green. LPG is better for clean air in cities and should be used by urban buses (sorry Ken - that's one you got wrong). Biofuel is the only hope in terms of the future motive fuel for automotive transport as it is renewable (Bantam's point).

To reduce CO2 you have to reduce fuel consumption. High fuel prices are one (somewhat ineffective and inefficient) way to do this. Like yourself Mark I have to say 2p a litre isn't going to make any odds to me.
