But they do these things BECAUSE the drugs they use are illegal.
Pharmaceutical diamorphine (heroin) does little damage to the body and users can live perfectly normal lives. What does the damage is the crap that street smack gets cut with and the scumbags that addicts have to do business with in order to satisfy their addiction.
Most sensible analysis of drug use and addiction will come to the conclusion that legalising certain drugs and making them available on prescription to addicts can only improve the situation. This of course is not going to happen because the Daily Mail brigade would go apeshit at such a suggestion and politicians don't have the bottle to do the right thing.
If it's Brunstrom that's suggesting this, it's good to see he's not a complete fuckwit.
