| I suspect I must be one of the few people on here that thinks that this is actually a bloody cool peice of kit and if it does half of what they claim, it'll still be worth checking out. Let's not forget that as well as being able to send text messages (I imagine letters are picked using what looks like a rotary dial on the left hand side), it's abilities as a 'locator beacon' with a range of upto 1000m makes it bloody useful too...
Weren't BSAC sponsoring the development of a similar device with a prize fund of £10,000 for the winning design? I'd say these guys are in with a bloody good chance of picking up the prize money *if* the device lives up to its claims...
As a safety device, I can see this thing having definate promise...
