The bend in the knee will return, just keep practising, do it in the bath when it's warm and use tiger balm. Basically the bruising, swelling and lack of bend is down to fluid/blood in the joint. Work it out by keep bending.
I just returned to this thread after a trip away: Your injuries were a lot worse than mine.

I can bend my knee to nearly 90 degrees now and joy of joy I can now get my foot on the foot pegs of my mates Honda Hornet - just! Up til now I've been borrowing a cruiser to get and about on.

I have been told it could be 12 months, or more, knees take AGES to recover. I keep trying to remember what I could and couldn't do 2 months ago to cheers myself up. And my knee did hit a car at about a combined speed of 60-90mph, we reckon......

I am going to go to our pool and see how we (bf and I) can cope with getting me in, and particularly out, of the water. Only things is, I might scare everyone with my scar (which is not neat and tidy!!!!)

Thanks for all your replies. Yes I am daft enough to do it all on Nitrox on air tables..... (to whoever suggested that) it actually seems a very good idea.
