| Many years ago I was involved in a scheme funded by the European Social Fund to train disadvantaged young people to dive at Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.
They all enjoyed it and quite a few went on to complete some open water dives. The trouble was it was pretty much a dead end for them because they couldn't possibly afford the ongoing costs. The ESF did fund several compete sets of kit including drysuits but the organisers allowed certain of the disadvantaged youths to take that home with them for 'safe-keeping' and, not surprisingly, the kit was never seen again.
But the principal of getting people outdoors and active is a sound one and I take my hat off to you for doing something. Well done.
