V-Planner mixer uses the "Z factor compressability" charts and data. i.e. real gas properties. This chart from Atomox give a graph of "Z factor" compressions.

Some of the examples and comments above are in error.
  • Note that you need to set Mixer to bar or PSI - it makes a difference.
  • Also note that a starting pressure of 0, contains 1 ATA of gas. That fact is often overlooked when making a mix and in the 0 pressure sample above.
  • Mixer does not contain any fudge factor to allow for settling or heating in the fill process - the values shown are for a cold and stabilized fill state, and it may take a hour to reach this state. If your throwing together a mix in a short time, then extra fudge is required.
