Hello!
Apologies for starting a new post but the other went on long enough and this is just a quickie!
Been for the TOE today. Helen FH you're right, it truly IS the most unpleasant thing in the whole world! However, it's over quick enough, and I managed it without sedation! That in itself was a personal achievement!
Anyway, the result is
NO PFO!!!!
I talked to her quite a lot about all your comments, about the rather worrying false negative results, etc and she listened with interest. She knows about Dr W and was telling her nurses all about him being the divers Dr!!! She knew I was particularly worried about the risk of a false negative so she did five bubble tests on me. She said the septum was fairly thin, but despite trying to shunt bubbles five times with me "squeezing down", she said there were no bubbles getting across.
So, the swimming pool here I come! Get those skills practiced and perfected and get wet properly again. Then a session at Vobster and back to normality by the time the next season starts in earnest!
Anyone fancy a dive?????
Thanks for you support, YD and co. You're advice and kindness has been great and really appreciated.
I'm going to relax now. It's a fairly stressful procedure and I must confess I feel a little jelly like in the legs!!!
Thanks
