Well done - wish more people thought like this. I do believe we wouldnt have so many discontented young people that we have today who almost see as it as a right to instantly have whatever it is that they want, often emotionally blackmailing parents to get whatever it is.
This starts right from the toddler who will have a temper tantrum to get the sweets/icecream they want whilst in a shop to the teenager who just has to have the latest trainers/computer game/mobile phone and will put parents through hell if they dont get it as they have to come to expect to be given all that is asked for. Unfortunately these people often go on as adults to run up huge credit card bills as they have never learnt to wait. These are important life skills and we do children no favours in the long run by indulging them all the time.
