What does it take to make the people realise what a bunch of con artists the current government are?

Acting in our interests? I think not.
Acting in their own interests? More than likely.

Going to war when the majority of the country was against it?
Lying about the reasons for going to war in the first place?
Hiking the cost of living up beyond most people's means and then wondering why half the country is up to it's eyes in debt on credit cards?
Keeping the cost of fuel artificially high? (70p out of the 106p we pay for fuel is duty/tax)
Introducing 'nanny' laws and H&S removing our freedom of choice as human beings and then wondering why the NHS is on it's knees because the population of the UK is growing at an insane rate, yet they're closing hospitals and introducing things like ORCON standards which are counter productive.

Maybe those who sit and make policy ought to get out of their ivory westminster towers for a week and see how the rest of the country actually lives?

Sorry. I'll get off my soap box. I can't help but look at the film I saw last night and think that it was a good story, but that I really think that Dystopian future is where we're directly headed
Well, Big Brother (and I don't mean that bloody awful TV program) is arriving.

Curiously enough, I wasn't opposed to the war in Iraq. Getting rid of Saddam H was a good thing.

However, the complete balls up that has been made since is a complete travesty. And, if 'they' are going to fight for the freedom of other peoples then why haven't they done something about Mugabe ............ and Myanmar (Burma?) where the generals put down the monk's peaceful protests and anywhere else where peoples are suffering?

I swear to the God that I don't think exists (but wish did) that there are too many people in the world and in too close proximity. Nature is said to abhor a vacuum but I also think it abhors over crowding and it usually resolves that issue with disease or a surfeit of predators?

Going back to my original point about personal freedoms is it just me or does it seem that the more they try to crack down the greater and more severe crime becomes? How many people were murdered today? 3? A police woman shot yesterday and 2 remaining shotgun victims today?

I should get a job writing for the Daily Mail?
