try Dino Sub based at Dino island (Isola Dino) at Praia A Mare on the west coast of Calabria. They have a website (
Dinosub - home page). Some wrecks around the area and some good grottos around the island itself which is only a couple of hundred meters from the shore. They also go slightly north to Maratea too I think. The area in general has fantastic clear waters and loads of empty beaches (except for August) and I can thoroughly recommend it. I like the area so much that I have a holiday home there but haven't dived there yet as I have only just completed my pool sessions of an open water referral course but can't wait to get out and dive there.
