They certainly were a while ago, not sure how they compare to the low profile Apeks now but I know the high profile Apeks are reasonably good these days.

You may get the rubber washer, but apart from that it's just the valve I think.

Not in terms of cutting the suit, etc as I've only ever replaced an existing one with a Si-Tech. Depending on the suit type you
may need to use some silicone sealant around the valve when you fit it, but then again you may not. Try it without first and see how it goes.
