Why?,  I do all the time and can't see where the problem is.

The previous posts have covered it but I particularly noted PADI as apposed to the equaly problamatic BSAC because Porg has mentioned PADI training to be a consideration.

They want to see a yellow octo reg in the chest triangle so if she is teaching / assisting thats what she will have to have.

If someone did notice /go for the one around my neck it would pull out of the shock chord neck thing any way so not a big problem just a bit uncomfortable.

A few well aimed stabs with the sharp end of my crab podger should fend them off to a safe long hose distance

Fair enough,  not sure about this whole having to use bcd/standard hose setup for teaching in OW.  AIUI as long as the standards are not breached it should be possible.

I use a standard setup when working in the pool and a harness, long hose in openwater, but that is only DMing.  I am thinking of the instructor route next year, but not happy with the idea of not using a long hose in OW.  I would feel a hypocrite

I might seek clarification from PADI and post the response.

Sound like I ought to consider a podger, and I don't even like crab
