| I had my HSE medical recently and can confirm the above - it's just one of those blood sugar counts, so just a little pin prick on your finger and one drop of blood onto a stick!
(I was bricking it too - mainly because of work I'd not actually been to sleep for 36 hours before my medical!)
I didn't have to give a blood sample on my first HSE medical (and I have the commercial ones too - not the divemaster ones which they skip loads of stuff on).
